10 Things I want in a Job
I've had it. I quit. I'm done. It can't be done here. I'm tired. Help! All of the previous statements have been said by me in the past few years here at my current job as a Sr. Software Engineer at a local government contractor. Our company...

I just realized I have Internet everywhere...
Well, just about everywhere. My HTC Mogul and Sprint PCS plan allow me to have unlimited data transfers, and with the ability to share my phones Internet connection via USB or Bluetooth, I can get access for my laptop where there's no public wireless...

Calling Vista by a new name might be appropriate...
Microsoft released a website recently posting reaction videos of people they had asked to preview a new version of Windows called Mojave. Only this was simply Windows Vista they were actually previewing. The point being to show that people had misconceptions...

Upgrading to Mobile 6.1 killed my Phone as Modem service...
...killed it for a couple of days at least. Until I came across a comment in a blog about a related issue regarding how Sprint denies MMS on Win mobile and blackberry phones. Although I had also read that Sprint will "soon" be releasing an update...

Windows Mobile 6.1 - Grade C-
It seems like Microsoft is only partially getting the hint these days. Perhaps they've lost their fight to be the best in every market; innovators in every respect. Maybe I'm just overly jaded by their mistakes. Vista, Mobile 6, and TagSpace to...

$8,000-per-gallon printer ink leads to antitrust lawsuit
I find it ridiculous that these companies can get away with the insane prices for computer ink. If they didn't bother with all the electronics B.S. they put into a cartridge we wouldn't have to pay so much for one. My all-in-one Lexmark printer...

Programmer A.D.D.
So I've come to realize that I have Programmer A.D.D. This problem is when a developer cannot focus on one project, due to their attention always being focused on a new concept, new idea, etc. I have this problem in a bad way it seems. First, I am...

My work is blocking access to my website!
So I was just testing out some software this morning and decided to enter in my URL like so: http://www.robkennedy.com/ with the beginning www. notation. When I clicked the link I was taken to our Websense blocking screen: Obviously this is total BS!...

2007 Browns, Steelers, Both Suck
Sitting here watching the Browns play the Steelers. Pathetic is the one word that comes to mind when I watch their starting quarterback. The guy seems like he doesn't want to be there playing, and on top of that, when he throws the ball, they've...

New PC at work, but still left feeling stranded...
So I've been dealing with a really dogged out computer at work for the past year now. 1GB of memory and plenty of disk space, you would think the P4 GX270 would be able to cope with every day developer tasks, but it really has become a pain in the...

Long time no talk...
Well it's been quite a while since I've posted up here. Still recovering from the VPSLand data crash and I just haven't had the time or the initiative to get the sites back up to par. I will once I get a little more free time on my hands....
